Defense/Homeland Security

Fleetwood Electronics is emerging into the rapidly growing defense and homeland security arena with a range of solutions for device-to-device, people-to-device, and people-to-people communications. These applications include command and control, wireless tracking of personnel or assets, and short-range data communication technologies.

We routinely develop systems that operate effectively in high RF environments, such as that found in disaster response locations, in aircraft, and other “crowded” scenarios. We have developed protocols that help avoid wireless “collisions”, and have frequency hopping, spread spectrum and WiFi avoidance technologies.

We are in development on a handheld, wireless device with a color LCD touch screen and a smartcard reader. Potential applications for this device exist in First Responder scenarios, Homeland Security and Federal ID management.
